Energy is still very constant throughout the day and my strength in the gym is shooting up as well, as I have more energy to start I can push myself further and longer. It was deadlifting today, same ten sets as last week, ascending weight, but got more reps than last time.
A few people have been asking me why you need to Eliminate so many foods, dairy, wheat, caffeine, processed food and sugar.
Well apart from the obvious unhealthy choices from list above, it is known a lot of people can be intolerant to these banned foods, so eliminating them for 30 days, then slowly reintroducing them after will reveal if you have a problem with any of them. Also it gives your body a chance to 'reset' itself, getting your organs functioning correctly or at least on the way to that.
Once I have explained this, I still get asked, 'but I'm not intolerant to wheat (for example) can I have it then?'
Funnily enough my answer is always the same 'NO'
And here are a few reasons why
There are four main groups people can be intolerant to, gluten (which includes wheat), dairy, fructose (fruit sugars) and yeast, some symptoms to these are very similar and can get confusing as to which intolerance, if any you have.
For example, headaches, bloating, eczema, inflammation of joints and IBS, diarrhea, constipation and even arthritis too name a few. Can all be related to food intolerences.
These symptoms can sometimes take a couple of days to be noticeable, so if you get a headache on a Tuesday it maybe from something you had on Sunday, not necessarily that day.
Also a lot of the time, you maybe mixing foods, for instance, pasta with cheese on top, so was it the wheat in the pasta, the cheese on top or it could even be the fact that pasta absorbs water and so gives you that bloated stomach.
There are several tests you can take to find out if you are intolerant to certain foods, some tests better than others, but just completing the 30 day Elimination Diet, then slowly reintroducing these foods, is an excellent way of finding out, if you do have a tolerance to wheat, you will know straight away, and it'll be wheat free for you, as far as i'm aware if you are intolerant, you will be for life (but I maybe wrong)
So eliminating all these foods at once, will help you find out what if anything you are intolerant too, as well as restoring your health, vitality and if needed some weight loss.
Craig :-)
