Day Five and I'm feeling loads better today, still a tiny bit of a headache, but hardly notice it, so thats good, energy and concentration levels were loads better today too, which was good as I have the FIRST WEEKEND to plan for.
The first weekend, now this could be another hurdle in your 30 day journey !!
The first week back at work is done, some of your work/friends are going out, or going for a quick drink, before heading home.
So what do you do ? Well the same as every other time I guess, you decide whether you want to go or not ? The only thing that has changed is you've decided to make this month your life/health changing month.
So if you love that social aspect or just want to chill out with friends for a few hours after work, brilliant, but remember the only option you'll have in most pubs is water and the chances are there will be some peer pressure from your so called 'friends' to have a drink, "go on just have one" "what harm can one do" the usual I'm sure you've heard it before, maybe even said it to someone before ?
These usually are the people who want to see you fail, want to bring you back to where they are, usually the ones who would love to be healthier, love to have your determination and will power, so no matter what pressure you get put under, if any, remember what you achieved already, what you've been through to get here. Do you really want to wake up tomorrow morning, with probably a worse hangover than usual, or even if you did just have that 'one' knowing you'll have to start all over again, your body has those toxins (hence when drinking you become intoxicated !) No I didn't think you would, so stay focused, you'll wake tomorrow, with the biggest best feeling of self achievement knowing you coped, with what maybe your first real obstacle.
One of my clients even texted me tonight to tell me they were in the pub, drinking water, and so so proud of themselves, is that not how you want to feel ??
Hopefully though your friends/colleagues are a little more supportive of what your doing and why, then they may actually help you, if you think, that you may just have 'one'
Just because its the weekend, or even more so, remember PREPARATION IS THE KEY TO YOUR SUCCESS, this doesn't change .
Take a look at what you have planned for the weekend.
Know where you going, what your doing and especially know what food your going to have.
Do you need eat before you go, can you, do you need to take food with you ? If your going out, can they supply you with ED friendly meal ?
If your going out for a meal, if your not sure phone the restaurant in advance, make sure they can make you or have on their menu a suitable meal.
Most restaurants can and will be able to make you a suitable dish, it only takes 2 minutes to call. Don't leave it to anyone else, JUST DO IT.
