Day Ten, travelling and the Elimination Diet

Day ten, could've been one of those slip up days, which some of you may come across during your 30 days, I had to travel today.

Yes, I got on a plane and took off, and still stuck to the Elimination Diet, how did I manage this ?

Preparation, yes you guessed it.
I was on the 7am red eye to London today, so last night I boiled some eggs and get them in the fridge, peeled and sealed, you don't want your fridge smelling of eggs for a few days, thats for sure.
Had them, before my taxi came and took a banana with me, which I had at the airport. So no need for the very dodgy looking bacon roll or that latte in departures, or even the 'breakfast' sandwhich they offered me on the plane, the eggs will keep you satisfied for a few hours at least.

Luckily enough for me, I knew where I was going and know they have an excellent Organic shop, which sells salad boxes, so no need to take my own, had both a brunch and a mid afternoon salad box, which was a great change, as they obviously have different mixes from what I have been making myself, also stocked up on the Tulsi tea.

As I said, luckily I knew where I was going and knew there would be good food available, but if I hadn't what options could I have used ?
Take my own, now thats the obvious one, but not necessarily the most practical, who wants warm, bashed about salad at 3 in the afternoon ?
Phone ahead if your going to be in a conference type building, do they have a canteen, are there local shops, are they any good ?
If your, for instance going on a shopping trip, most city centre or shopping centres, will have some healthy food outlets or shops.

Even today, when i had a few hours to kill, I found myself, wondering what to do to kill time, where as normally it would be the nearest coffee shop, a latte and a muffin etc nope can't be going in there now, or can I ?
Of course i can, and did, remember they don't just sell coffee, they have herbal teas, (just stay away from the green one) I easily past half an hour, relaxing and enjoyed my herbal brew, or even better, they will do you hot water, take your favourite tea with you, doesn't take much to carry a couple of tea bags around.

Even back at the airport, I manage to get some fruit, some even organic, from a well know shop with an M and a S in its title.
Funnily enough after that, as I was patting myself on the back for a good days eating, I was thinking I may even have a wee drink on the plane ! D'oh !!! Stopped patting !! ( had water on the plane).

So again, what could've caused a slip up, turned into a non event, easy day food wise, again a little preparation and a little knowledge of where your going, simple but effective.

Craig :-)
